Very special auctions

As I mentioned a few weeks ago I'm running some very special auctions right now. 100% of these sales will go directly to the San Diego Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For the past four years I have been a part of "Team Cooper." Cooper is my dear friend Julie's five year old son. Cooper is just five days older than my oldest son but when I brought my son home, Cooper was still in the NICU as they tried to find out what was going on with him. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at two weeks old. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Currently the median life expectancy is just under 37 years old. I just turned 37 this year and hearing that fact really hit home with me!

During Cooper's first year of life he had many hospital stays as he fought to stay healthy. Over the past years Julie has done everything in her power to keep Cooper healthy and thriving. Everyday he undergoes breathing treatments on a nebulizer, wears a vibrating vest to keep the mucus from sticking to his lungs and takes numerous medications. He's a sweet and bright little boy and is such a joy. We want to do everything we can to keep Cooper healthy!

Great Strides is an annual fundraiser for the CF Foundation. We will be walking it with Julie, Cooper and their family and friends on May 17th. Please check out my auctions and help support Team Cooper. Or, if you are moved to do so you can donate directly to my Great Strides webpage .

Lastly, please check out Cooper's YouTube Video!

Thanks for letting me share this very personal story with you!

Bibs

Sorry it's taken me so long to post! I've been wanting to share these pictures but have had a hard time uploading my pictures to my photo hosting site. Anyway- I finally got it figured out so here they are.

I made these bibs for a new customer and think they came out so cute!

Also, my sister-in-law is getting married in a few weeks and my boys are in the wedding. I had them try on their suits the other day and they re so cute. Look at my oldest son's favorite pose- he reminds me of James Bond! Hopefully I can talk him out of doing that on the day of the wedding LOL!

And lastly, we planted a garden! This has been something I've been wanting to do and I got motivated my a speaker we had at my MOPS meeting a few weeks ago. So we built a little frame and filled it with dirt and planted some starters was well as seeds. Here's some pictures from the day we planted. The lettuce is looking a little wilted and the peas didn't survive. I thought I was over watering them but it turns out I was under watering so hopefully I can salvage the tomatoes, corn and lettuce. The kids really got a kick out of helping with this so I encourage everyone to do this as a family project!

Have a great day!

Finally!

It's finally Friday and I have finally finished my latest project and have a picture posted below. I've had this idea in my head for a at least a month and it feels great to finally have it done. It's a cute personalized keepsake pillow. I'm making two more for my other sons that will be a little different and I also want to make something similar but will be a wall hanging. So hopefully I can get these done over the weekend.

Next week I will be listing a bunch of stuff- new and old. For the past four years I've participated in the Great Strides Walk to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (so far I've raised over $7,000 since 2003!). The local San Diego office has signed up on Mission Fish so I can have all of my sales for the next few weeks donated to the walk. I will dedicate a whole post next week once I have everything listed and tell you more including why this charity is so close to my heart.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Need Blogspot Tips

Ok- I'm a little annoyed with Blogspot. Whenever I post my pictures and "preview" them before posting they are perfectly centered and look great but when I "publish" them they are all off centered. And now I notice all my old posts have all of the text "centered" which isn't the end of the world but looks a little weird.

Can any bloggers out there give me some advice?

Thanks!

Spring Break Is Over!

Yikes! I can't believe that it's been almost two weeks since I posted last! My oldest was on Spring Break for TWO weeks. It was a very long two weeks and we are all glad to be back into our routine.

I did not do one stitch of sewing in his two weeks off. In a way it was refreshing to take a break and I have a lot of new ideas I want to do but in a way I was panicking thinking of all the sewing time I was losing. Today I did finish a new idea I have been thinking about for awhile and hope to post tomorrow. I'm hoping it will be a big seller. Oh- and good news, we just found out that next year our school is moving to a more "traditional" school schedule and we will only have a one week vacation!

On Saturday I went to my sister-in-law's (my husband's sister) bridal shower. It was a tea at the Four Seasons in Carlsbad and was sooo nice. It is a beautiful property and we had so much fun. We did the toilet paper dress game and I was the model. Here is a picture of my beautiful dress that won first place! My mother-in-law (far right) and her sisters designed the dress and whipped up paper roses- we had a lot of fun and the hotel guests didn't know what to make of us.
