Happy Halloween!

I've been teaching a sewing class to some of my friends and neighbors the past few months. It's been really fun passing on my love for sewing. It's also been fun because it's made me think up some new projects and actually do them! Here was our last project - some fun Halloween placemats kids. Now I need to do them for every holiday :)

Halloween shirt for Tea- last year I made her long sleeved shirts but it's still so hot here in October her mom opted for tanks this year.

Have a great weekend,

Has it been a month?

I knew I had been neglecting the blog but I was stunned to see it's been a whole month since I posted. Especially after I promised to post more often! Well what can I say- I've just been busy but I'm back!

Here are some cute bags I've been making. Look for them on etsy soon. I organized my fabric the other day and I have five huge tubs of fabric! I have promised myself that I cannot buy any more until I use some that I have. These cute little bags are the perfect way to use some up. Most of these are plain but I can personalize them as well.

I used iron-on vinyl on the lining so this would make a great snack or make-up bag.

Made this for the kids to keep their Legos in when we're on the go

My baby loves Thomas and loves his little train bag

Fun pirate bag

I'm getting ready to watch the Project Runway finale! I think Leanne will win.

Martha!

The new season of Martha starts today! I'm so excited to have some new episodes to watch. Here's a link to Martha's Blog. Also tomorrow her daughter's show, Whatever, Martha! starts on the Fine Living Network. I listen to Whatever! with Alexis and Jennifer on my Sirius radio and love it. I've even called in before. I know- I'm a geek.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

I'm Back!

I’m Back!

After a much needed break during August I’m back! It was really nice taking the whole month of August off. I did make a few things for friends and taught some sewing classes but for the most part I took it easy and enjoyed our end of summer.

Here are some updates and pictures….

My new favorite thing- make your own button kit!

I made some buttons for these cute pin cushions I made. I think they turned out cute!

A few months ago I mentioned I bought some cute fabric on ebay to make an outfit for my youngest. It was Lego fabric and the print was a little larger then I expected but I still like it. I made him some pants and a shirt. These pictures aren’t that great- as soon as I pull out the camera he tries running away and puts his hands up like I’m the paparazzi or something. He did wear it to Legoland a few weeks ago but we ate chicken nuggets when we first got there and he stained the shirt and I didn’t get any good pics.

On a personal note we’ve had a big week. My first baby started First Grade last week! He really likes it but I miss him during the day. When we get to school he can’t wait to get away from me and if I try to remind of something that he needs to give the teacher, etc. he says “I know Mom!” Ah, payback time I guess 

First Day of School

Outside his new classroom

Wow- my own desk!

And lastly, my DH and I got to go on a long weekend trip away from the kids! We flew to Chicago to watch our alma mater, San Diego State, play Notre Dame. Don’t ask me why were playing them- we just got beat by Cal Poly who I didn’t even know had a football team, a few weeks ago. We were supposed to be blown out and we did end up losing but we were actually winning a good part of the game! We had so much fun. We went with a group of friends and took a party bus to South Bend. We had a nice steak dinner and I didn’t have to cut up anyone’s meat. It was heaven. Of course where do we do the bulk of our shopping? The Lego Store on the Magnificent Mile of course! Being Irish and Catholic I was excited to see the Notre Dame campus and all the tradition they have. I wish my parents had told me how important it is to go to a school with a good football team! I will be sure to instill that with my kids! Just kidding of course…sorta LOL!

Our fun group of Aztecs

Look! We’re winning!

And still winning!

Thanks for looking! I promise to post more often.

Rest In Peace

Sorry I haven't posted lately, my Father-In-Law passed away last week. We are all just really sad and remembering our good times with him. Here are some of the last pictures we took at my SIL's wedding in May. He was so happy twirling her around the dance floor during the father-daughter dance. That's how I'll remember him.

Back to School

I just finished all of these last night. I love how this Back To School Apple shirt turned out. I know I said I wasn't going to post on ebay but I think I might list a few of these. I'll have to do a quick turnaround since schools will be starting in the next few weeks.

Bibs and Burp Cloths in my new surfboard fabric plus the matching floral print that goes with it.

Been Working Hard

Here's some recent stuff I've been working on. I'm taking a little break and won't be listing anything on ebay for the month of August. I have some other projects I'm working on and want to try to make some new stuff. If your a current customer I will be happy to take your order- just email me at sandiegobeachbaby@cox.net.
Thanks!

Recently I posted a cute UCLA set I made- here's a USC one. I also have similar fabric for Cal. These would make great gifts with football season coming up!

Cute Onesie Set I made for my friend's sister's baby shower. I've had these jungle animals forever and am glad I finally had a reason to use them. I also have elephants, giraffe, hippo, lion and more.

Knight shirt for my friend's son's birthday

My friend had me embroider this plain white dress for her daughter's birthday. I found this really cute butterfly set. Her daughter is turning two and so I added a subtle touch.

Cute butterfly applique shirt for my friend.

More to come- thanks for looking!
