Lost Teeth & Disneyland

Today is my first baby's sixth birthday! I can't believe how fast the past six years has gone by! A few weeks ago he lost his first tooth and as you can imagine it was very exciting. We had been waiting for two weeks for this tooth to finally come out. I'm glad I had that time to find the felt tooth my aunt made for me when I was little. I don't know how I knew where to find it. I'm a bit of a pack rat and very sentimental so I kept it in pretty good shape. It's fun to pass this tradition on to my own kids!

Ryan's first lost tooth - 2008

Every July we go to Disneyland to celebrate the big day so we went yesterday. We had a really fun time and I made my two little ones Mickey pirate shirts. I had intended to make Ryan one but I just ran out of time but he didn't seem to mind. He was happy to wear his cool Incredibles shirt. I tried all day to get my little guys to model the shirts but couldn't them to both stand still together and get a good shot. I finally was able to get this one.

Cute Mickey shirts- and pretty much how I felt by 7pm

Garden Update

A few months ago I told you about the garden I planted (click here to read it). I thought I'd post a little update and show some pictures. Some of the lettuce and spinach didn't survive and only one pea plant is growing. But my tomatoes are going crazy! I have five tomato plants and one of them is completely taking over the whole garden. It's like a jungle! I'm very excited since I love tomatoes and with the big salmonella scare this spring it's a relief that I'll have my own to eat and not have to worry about that.

Enjoy and Bon Appetit!

How the garden looked the day we planted it in April

Welcome to Tomato Jungle!

I have over twenty tomato buds growing

Finally some ripe ones!

Corn is growing nicely

First tomato from the garden sliced with basil (also from the garden) and fresh mozzerella

Added some Olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper - YUM!!
